Steps: the text version of this video
-
Record your rent
If you let property in the UK, record the rent you receive as transactions in EasyTaxer. Here are three months' rent for one property.
-
Open Submissions
Then open Submissions. Your UK property business has its own row of quarters, each with its period and deadline.
-
Choose the quarter
Select the quarter you want to send, here the first quarter of the tax year.
-
Check the figures
EasyTaxer shows the rental income and expenses it will report for the period, and the net profit.
-
Submit to HMRC
Select Submit, then confirm. EasyTaxer sends the update to HMRC and tells you when HMRC has accepted it.
What happens next
- HMRC checks the update. As soon as HMRC accepts it, EasyTaxer confirms it on screen.
- If HMRC rejects the update, EasyTaxer shows you HMRC's own error message, so you know what to change before you send it again.
