Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the owners of the site.

2. How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar local storage to:

  • Keep you signed in to your account.
  • Remember your preferences and settings (including your cookie-banner choice).
  • Understand how you use our website so we can improve it (only with your consent).

3. Types of cookies we use

Essential cookies and storage: Necessary for the site to function — for example, keeping you signed in once you log in to the application, and remembering your cookie-banner choice. These do not require consent under UK PECR.

Analytical/performance cookies: If you accept them via our banner, these help us count visitors and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not currently set any analytics cookies; this section will be updated when we do.

4. Cookies and storage in detail

The table below lists the cookies and browser storage entries currently set by EasyTaxer.

Name Type Purpose Duration Provider
et-cookie-consent Local storage (essential) Records your cookie banner choice so we don't ask again on every visit. Until cleared EasyTaxer (first-party)
JSESSIONID Cookie (essential) Maintains your authenticated session inside the EasyTaxer application after you sign in. Session EasyTaxer (first-party)

Third-party resources used to render our marketing pages (Google Fonts, Font Awesome via Cloudflare CDN, Tailwind CDN) do not set cookies on your browser.

5. Managing cookies

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing the et-cookie-consent entry in your browser's site storage and reloading the page — the consent banner will reappear. You can also block cookies entirely via your browser settings, but this may affect site functionality.
