How do I choose my income sources in EasyTaxer?

Open Income sources. The businesses in HMRC's records are selected for you; tick any other income you had in the tax year, such as savings interest or UK dividends, then select Save.

Before you start

  • The tax year you want is the one shown at the top of the page.

Step by step

  1. Open Income sources from the menu. It lists every kind of income EasyTaxer can report for the tax year shown at the top. Profile & Residency and Tax Submissions are always included.
  2. Businesses that HMRC's records show for your National Insurance number are marked Selected for you. Untick one if you had no income from it in this tax year.
  3. A business that already has transactions for the tax year is Locked. To switch it off, delete or move its transactions first.
  4. Tick any other income you had in the tax year, for example Savings Income or UK Dividends.
  5. Select Save. Each ticked source gets its own page in the menu under Income. Reset discards changes you have not saved.

    Businesses in HMRC's records are selected for you. Here that's self-employment, UK property and foreign property. Untick one if you had no income from it this year.

  3. Locked while it has transactions

    A business that already has transactions for the year is locked. To switch it off, delete or move those transactions first.

  4. Add your other income

    Now tick any other income you had, for example interest from savings, or dividends from UK companies.

  5. Save

    Select Save. Each source you ticked now has its own page in the menu, under Income.
