Step by step
- Open Income → Benefits and pick the tax year.
- Under From HMRC, check each benefit: correct its amounts, or ignore it to leave it out of your return (unignore puts it back).
- Under Benefits you added, select Add benefit for one HMRC doesn't have, and enter its dates and amounts.
- Changes are accepted once the tax year has ended.

The short answer
HMRC adds the taxable state benefits it knows about to your tax return, such as the State Pension, and you must check them before you submit. Any that HMRC doesn't know about, you add yourself. In EasyTaxer, that's Income, then Benefits.

HMRC's figures
Under From HMRC, you see the benefits HMRC already holds. You can't delete them, but you can correct the amounts, or ignore one to leave it out of your return, and unignore it to put it back.
-
Adding a benefit
If HMRC doesn't have one, select Add benefit, choose the benefit type, and enter its dates and amounts. You can change a benefit you've added later, or delete it.
-
When
HMRC only accepts these changes once the tax year has ended. For 2026 to 2027, that's after 5 April 2027, and until then the page tells you so.
