Step by step
- Open Income → Employment and pick the tax year.
- Under From HMRC, check the employments HMRC holds; you can view or ignore one, but not edit or delete it.
- Under Your employments, select Add employment for a job HMRC doesn't have, then enter its pay, tax and benefits on the job's page.
- Add employment expenses or tips if you have them, once the tax year has ended.

The short answer
If you're employed as well, HMRC adds the PAYE employment income it knows about to your tax return, and you must check it before you submit. In EasyTaxer, that's Income, then Employment. Employment is reported once a year.
-
HMRC's employments
Under From HMRC, you see the employments HMRC holds. You can view one, or ignore it to leave it out, but you can't edit or delete it.
-
Adding a job
If HMRC doesn't have a job, add it under Your employments: the employer's name, the PAYE reference, and the start date. Then open the job to enter its pay, tax and benefits.
-
Expenses and tips
On the same page, you can report employment expenses, for all your employments, and tips you received that weren't taxed through PAYE. Links there also take you to other employment income, and to other expenses.
-
When
HMRC only accepts these once the tax year has ended. For 2026 to 2027, that's after 5 April 2027, and until then the page tells you so.
